Kürzere Variante: ½ stündiger Aufstieg vom Steinegger mit der Nr. 540 in die Furglauer Schlucht bis zum Erreichen des querführenden Eppaner Höhenweges Nr. 9, auf ihn wie unten beschrieben nach Buchwald, von Buchwald mit der Nr. 10 auf Forststraße nach Perdonig, weiter wie unten beschrieben – insgesamt ca. 4 Stunden bei ca. 300 Höhenmeter im Auf- als auch im Abstieg.
