In 1494, the famous German artist Albrecht Dürer traveled to Italy for the first time. The destination of his journey was Venice. As the Adige Valley was flooded, the artist had to divert after his stay at the Klösterle St. Florian near Neumarkt on the way from Laag to Buchholz. During his stay at the castle of Segonzano, some of his famous watercolors were created.
Part of this historic path can be experienced on this hike:From the Klösterle in St. Florian at the foot of the Madruttwand to Laag. From there over the old "Roman bridge" on a broad path to Buchholz. Continue via Garbe to Laag and back to the Klösterle. For this, we leave the Dürerweg shortly before Buchholz and follow path no. 3 through the sculpture garden.
Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.
Motorway A22, exit Neumarkt/Auer, direction Laag, just before entering the village the Klösterle is on the left side.
