The Pinot Noir Trail in southern South Tyrol is a new wine and cultural educational path that leads through the well-known Pinot Noir growing area along the Trudner Horn Nature Park. Starting from the villages of Auer, Montan, and Neumarkt, you can cross some of the best Pinot Noir sites in Italy in Mazon, Glen, and Pinzon. You can choose between a day route of 16 kilometers or three half-day hikes. Along the way, you will encounter historic and cultural gems such as the significant archaeological site of Castelfeder, the old Fleimstal railway track, the Pinzon St. Stephen's Church with the late Gothic Hans-Klocker altar, the idyllic St. Michael's Church in Mazon, the Kaldiff castle ruins, or the stately Enn Castle. Informative display panels and interactive stations bring you closer to this unique wine-producing region and its history. Beautiful viewpoints over the South Tyrolean lowlands reward hikers on their way. The altitude gain is moderate, but there is much to see and experience. The wine educational path is family-friendly and safe. It is accessible year-round.
